Volunteer

Ticket sales and credential scanning at tournament entrances. Issue proper credentials to members of military and allied organizations. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Assigned to a group of players to accompany them for the entire eighteen holes. Walk ahead of the players to ensure access to tee boxes, cross walks, and green’s exits are properly staffed and there is nothing impeding access to these areas. Must be able to walk eighteen holes. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

PLAYER TRANSITION TEAM: Escort players through transition areas which include the Putting Greens, 1st & 10th tees, 9th & 18th greens and player clubhouse. Assist with course evacuation as needed. Greatest needs are Wed.-Sun.

Register professional caddies, maintain caddie area, distribute/collect/wash caddie bibs & towels. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Maintain and distribute golf carts, including charging/preparation of carts for the next day. Shifts begin at 5AM. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Assist the PGA TOUR staff in providing childcare for the children of the players. Background checks required; must be at least 18 yrs. of age. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Answer incoming calls, provide information, take messages & transfer calls to other areas. Organize radio distribution. Manage daily radio check-out, check-in, charging & training on proper radio use. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Shotlink Mobile Spotters (SMS) locate and flag shots, assist with ball flight tracking from tee, and relay pertinent information to the PGA TOUR Scoring tech.  SMS should be physically able to walk/stand for the duration of their shift.  A one-hour online training course, a one-hour in person training session, and an on-course training on Wednesday of tournament week, are required.  Volunteers must sign a Disclosure Form. One weekend day is required for all volunteers

Responsible for managing gallery noise & traffic; Ensuring safety of our guests by reinforcing health & safety policies; and providing a world class guest experience. Assist with course evacuation if needed. Ensure compliance with cell phone/camera rules. Greatest Needs are Thursday – Sunday. Weekends are Full Day Shifts. Must work one weekend shift. 

Assist as hosts for sponsors/guests; direct all guests to their correct locations. Control access to hospitality areas by verifying proper credentials, maintain noise control and mobile device policy. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Assist players in locker room to help ensure their needs are met. Assist in delivering all shipped items to locker room, stock coolers, etc. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Formerly Tournament Operations Task Force. Operate spectator shuttle for tournament patrons, which provides transportation to & from designated locations on course. Assist with course evacuation when necessary. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Maintain spectator control & assist players at the practice range & putting green. Prevent unauthorized photography. Ensure compliance with cell phone/camera rules. Collect, sort and distribute range balls & maintain bunkers to the left of range. Staff walkway from range or practice green to tee or clubhouse. Requires some heavy lifting and 6+ hour shifts. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Greet, register & provide information to amateur contestants. Assemble and distribute gift packages to amateurs. Assist with the verification of handicaps, amateur golf bags, pace of play, collecting scorecards, scoring and awards presentation. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Receive, control and distribute pairing sheets, programs, and on course refreshments for use by the players. Receive & distribute supplies for vendors and tournament employees. Requires lifting. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Provide transportation to/from tournament for PGA National residents. Drive small passenger vans to designated pickup areas within PGA National. One weekend day is required for all volunteers. Valid driver license required. 

Answer questions, direct spectators and hospitality patrons, and provide general information. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Walk with each group of golfers for the entire round and display their scores in relation to par on a Scoring Standard. This position is a great opportunity for teenagers or parents and children. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

For the “Walk With A Parent” program, only one child (under the age of 13) per parent/guardian permitted, please.

As an “Experience Team Volunteer” (ETV), your support may be requested when a committee needs additional assistance or you will be assigned to The Classic in The Palm Beaches Experience booth, helping to recruit new volunteers for future tournaments.

Beginning prior to the event, support tournament staff by answering phones, assembling invitations, mailing tickets, and various office duties. Assistance needed beginning in mid-January. Only 4-5 volunteers needed. Priority is given to previous tournament office volunteers.

Inventory/distribution of vehicles to PGA TOUR players and special guests. Includes, airport pick up/drop off for players and transport for tournament VIP’s. Valid driver’s license required. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Provide on course assistance to both the Television Network and Satellite Radio. Must be familiar with golf etiquette, course layout and the rules of golf. Must be able to walk 18 holes and utilize two-way radio quickly and efficiently. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

Distribute volunteer uniforms prior to tournament week and staff check -out process. Distribute volunteer badges. May also be needed tournament week for late uniform pick -up. One to two weeks prior to tournament. Exact dates TBD.

Maintain volunteer headquarters, provide information, set up, serve & clean-up food/beverages, stock drink coolers, distribute and collect lunch chits. Requires early morning hours. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.

A prestigious and critical volunteer position requiring mental and physical stamina, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the game of golf. The scorer accompanies a group of up to three players, keeping their scores, tracking specific statistics, and capturing real-time data. This position requires the use of a handheld digital device to record each shot, as well as a voice radio with a headset, allowing for constant communication with the ShotLink staff. An online training course and a one-hour in-person training the weekend before the tournament is required. Volunteers must sign a Disclosure Form.

Wednesday required for ALL walking scorer volunteers. One weekend day is required for all volunteers.
