Brinker, Whaley Headline Presentations as Women’s Leadership Forum Returns to the 2019 Honda Classic
As many of the world’s top PGA TOUR professionals prepare to showcase their skills at The Classic in The Palm Beaches, the tournament will serve as the backdrop for a Tuesday morning forum inspiring professional women toward career and personal development.
The Classic in The Palm Beaches’s Women’s Leadership Forum will be held February 26, 2019 from 7:45 am – 11:30 a.m. at PGA National Resort & Spa with a powerful tandem of keynote speakers.
This year’s Leadership speakers are Nancy Brinker, regarded as the leader of the global breast cancer movement, and Suzy Whaley, the first woman ever elected to serve as President of the PGA of America.
Tickets are $150 per seat or $1500 for a table of 10.
Part of The Classic in The Palm Beaches’s continuing Women’s Initiative, this popular business forum annually brings together influential women to participate in an engaging event focused on professional development, leadership management, networking, corporate dialogue and corporate social responsibility.
More than 200 businesswomen will participate in the event, which includes presentations, networking sessions and a behind-the-scenes tour of the tournament.
Brinker’s journey began with a simple promise to her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything possible to end the shame, pain, fear and hopelessness caused by breast cancer. She founded Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 1982. The organization has raised more than $2 billion and has played a critical role in every major advancement in breast cancer. It stages a series of 5K runs and fitness walks throughout the country which raise significant funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement.
Whaley is the Director of Instruction at Mirasol Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens. After serving two years as PGA Secretary and two years as Vice President, she was elected to President at the PGA Annual meeting in November.
